Contrary to popular belief, if you’re in a bad mood, feeling low-vibe, or have a ton of negative feelings, you still have a solid chance of using the law of attraction to manifest your dreams. Read on to discover exactly how to use your low mood to create more magic in your life.
Like Attracts Like
Have you ever heard “like attracts like” when it comes to manifesting?
This is something you will hear and read over and over again when you study the law of attraction.
Like attracts like is the idea that if you spend your time visualizing what you want and feeling it, you are going to attract more of those good feelings.
But if you spend all your time thinking about your limiting beliefs and what you don’t have in your life, then you’ll experience more of that in return.
This means you want to focus your time, attention, and energy on what you want, not what you don’t want, even if it has to do with ending your current situation.
Don’t think about how right now you can’t pay your bills – spend your time thinking about when you are able to pay your bills.
This is what like attracts like is all about.
Honor Your Negative Feelings When Manifesting
Sometimes it’s easy to get things confused and feel very “love and light” and “good vibes only” and only focus on the positive.
But that’s really not the way to go.
It’s inauthentic, and can cause problems because when you don’t address something it can cause it to come to the surface later anyway – just worse.
For example, you might not want to show anger because it’s seen as a “negative” feeling, but when you don’t allow yourself to feel angry about something and get it out on the table – then that comes up later.
Alternatively, if you are in a relationship with someone who is draining your energy and making you unhappy, you might be tempted to push those feelings under the rug.
But what happens?
Eventually, you explode. The relationship ends anyway. And you’ve wasted your time!
So, what do you do instead?
Use Negative Emotions Like A Compass
I think it’s a much better approach to use negative feelings like a compass.
When you have a negative thought, accept it for what it is, then think about something else you’d like to experience instead.
I like the practice of actually naming my emotions… sometimes it takes more than a few words or phrases, but that’s okay.
You don’t have to sugarcoat things.
You can be completely honest. In fact — the more honest you are, the better.
Let’s Try An Example
So let’s say you want to manifest money.
You get all these money affirmations and get in the mirror and look at yourself while proclaiming “money and abundance limitlessly flow to me”… but deep down inside you feel broke.
You’re struggling to pay those bills and you’re trying to fake it but it’s just not working.
Well, don’t try to ram falsehoods through.
You’re not really fooling yourself or the Universe.
Instead, take out your journal and write out how you’re feeling.
Maybe you’re frustrated that you can’t pay your bills.
You might feel jealous that someone in your life seems to have it so easy.
And maybe you feel helpless because you’ve been applying to jobs but nothing has come through yet.
So you write all this out, and you come up with a few keywords here…
Frustrated, jealous, and helpless.
Consider The Opposite Of Those Feelings
Take some time to honor and acknowledge your negative emotions.
It’s okay to feel them.
Accept them for what they are, then commit to inviting the opposite into your life!
So what’s the opposite of frustrated, jealous, and helpless?
Maybe instead of feeling frustrated, you want to feel excited.
Instead of jealous, you want to feel supportive, equal, or something like that.
And maybe instead of feeling helpless, you want to feel empowered.
You can focus on THOSE feelings instead!
Accept, Allow, & Invite
Allow yourself to acknowledge that you feel frustrated, jealous, and helpless right now, but be open to inviting excitement, supportiveness, and empowerment into your life when it comes to your money.
So then you can focus on attracting those experiences and feelings into your life.
When you do the [scripting exercise\, think about what would make you feel excited about your money?
What would it look like for you to feel supportive and encouraging when you see people in your orbit who have what you desire? What would you do? How would you behave?
When you think of feeling empowered, what does that look like for you?
Then you can take it one step further.
Create Positive Feelings For Yourself
There’s a book that I love called the Desire Map that calls on you to identify how you want to feel, but don’t wait for it to come to you.
Move toward creating that in your life every day.
So maybe you do [manifesting rituals], but you also intentionally weave some of this into your daily life.
What tiny actions can you take throughout the day to invite feelings of excitement, support, and empowerment into your life?
A few ideas immediately come to mind for me.
How To Intentionally Create Good Feelings
One, maybe you’re a creative person and always wanted to start an Etsy shop.
Could you take ONE tiny step toward learning about what it might take and how much money you could make by starting your shop? That’s excitement about financial possibilities for your future.
For the supportiveness of friends who are doing well… it feels SO good to give compliments and make people feel good.
Sometimes cheering others on can bring you so many beautiful things in return.
What if you chose to chat with a friend, congratulate them on their success, and ask them some of the lessons they’ve learned along the way. What if you learn something exciting too?
To feel empowered, what could you do?
Could you take some time to reflect on financial successes you’ve had or created in your life before?
Maybe you’re struggling with finding a job right now, but what about when you nailed the last interview and got the job offer on the spot?
What about the time maybe you had extra money and helped someone in need?
Would that help you feel more empowered in your life?
Everybody Has Different Feelings & Desires
I know not everyone will have the exact same set of emotions, desires, or concerns, but I hope you get the point.
That you see working with feelings is so powerful for manifesting, and doesn’t even have to be all positive.
So yeah, overall I think sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in doing things “right”. It can all seem so complex but it’s also very simple.
The act of manifesting is simply to make something real. There are many ways to do this, but pretty much all of them start with your mindset.
At the end of the day, identifying how you currently feel, seeing how you want to feel, then taking steps to shift that energy (with the assistance of the Universe, of course), is how you’re going to get there.
