How Acting ‘As If’ Can Change Your Life
Whatever it is you cultivate or embody in your life, you will see reflected in your lived experience, in your reality.
Here is the Law of Attraction in action!
That which you put out into the world returns to you.
So, when you start to act as if your dreams have come true, as if your life has everything that you want or need, then you will soon see that you actually have these things.
When you act as if, you adopt the mindset, behaviors, and habits of someone who has attained their goals.
And, when you do this, you change your mental perceptions, you open yourself up to new possibilities and opportunities, and you see ways to realize your dreams that you had previously ignored or been blind to.
Those people who act as if they are full of confidence, for example, are perceived by others to be confident and therefore treated differently.
When you perform as if you are knowledgeable and successful, people will listen to you and follow your lead.
When you act as if you are healthy and active, you start treating your body in ways that nurture your well-being.
While this may seem like a trick, or even a lie if we’re being totally honest – it is anything but!
It is harnessing the power of your mind and the psychological rules that govern our species to change how you perceive the world and how others see and judge you.
And it is a powerful force for realizing your dreams and getting what you want.
How to Act As If And Manifest Your Dream Life
Step 1: Write Down What Life Will Be Like Once You Reach This Goal
First and foremost, you have to have some general idea of what life will be like once you achieve your goal.
In your mind’s eye, you probably have an idea of the fantasy that you want to manifest into your reality.
While you don’t absolutely have to write this on paper, it makes it so much easier and makes your intention and your actionable steps much more clear.
I recommend first trying the law of attraction scripting exercise, where you write a letter to the universe detailing how your new life is once you’ve manifested your desire.
Once you write this letter, review it, and take note of the key points of difference between your current state and your ideal state.
List at least three to five ways you will behave differently once you’ve manifested this intention.
Step 2: Act As If You’ve Already Achieved It
Once you’ve written down a list of behaviors you would expect from someone who has realized your particular dream, you’re ready to begin acting the part!
Pick those actions and make sure you do them all the time, in all that you do, no matter what it is.
Act as if your goal has already come to pass and see how it changes how you see the world and how others see you.
Step 3: Speak As If You Already Have What You Desire
How you speak to others, react to the world, and talk to yourself are all helping you to realize your goals.
Changing your words to reflect your “as if” reality is crucial.
In doing so, you’ll transform your self-talk and change how you answer other people’s questions or requests.
Speak the part of someone in authority, with confidence, and who is thriving by their own measures, and the universe will have no choice but to help your intentions manifest.
Step 4. Believe in Your Role
The whole acting “as if” thing can seem weird if you’re not already there.
But the thing is, while you are currently playing a character, this role will soon become a reality.
So you must believe in yourself and the energy that is making this come true.
You may not believe that you already have what it is you desire, but you can work on believing that you have what it takes to get there.
Another nifty little trick is that you can take small actions that you do believe in, to help you get to your goal.
Here are a few examples:
1- If you want to be a published author, act as if you’re an author before you even write your first book!
Get a professional e-mail account and write “Author” in your signature line, or get some business cards made reflecting your new role.
When people ask you what you do, say you’re a writer! They will believe you.
2- If you want to manifest a new car, go take one for a test drive, or rent one for a day. Getting behind the wheel will help you align yourself to your intention, and you’ll become more of a vibrational match.
3- If you want to manifest your soul mate, act like you already have him or her in your life. Clear off your bed, release any toxic relationships, or bonds you have with people who are not right for you.

So I know a common problem with manifesting is that you know you have to shift your mindset to the positive.
